Hi it's AL! I'm the dumb blonde who is real smart with a camera ;)
Like most photographers, I absolutely love the outdoors! You can find me snowboarding, hiking/camping, paddling on my SUP board or just doing a nature walk with a coffee in hand. Coffee WITH my creamer of course ;) Big believer in chasing dreams & eating cookie dough whenever I feel like it! I got no shame lol. I moved out west to chase my own dreams for a while and I will always find my way back to the mountains as often as I can. We get one life and somehow it's not lost on me to make the most of what is in front of me.
On the other hand, coming back to my home state as a girl in her late-twenties brings a new perspective on my work, and I'm so lucky I get to appreciate the smaller, finer things in life. As much as I love to explore and be as active as possible, I also enjoy a good family game night, wine nights with my best friends, or winding down with a brewski cheering for my favorite team--Detroit Red Wings hockey! Let's be completely honest...those games don't usually wind me down lol. Iykyk.
I'm a sensitive soul and I like to believe I can really tune myself to my clients I work with, which produces real, heartfelt, and emotional photos within my family shoots + the weddings I capture.
When I lived out west, I fell in love with those smaller, more intimate weddings on a mountaintop. How special it is for those who love adventure + keeping their wedding day true to their relationship to go and elope somewhere in some stunning scenery. Elopements kinda have my heart right now, but family photography is where I got my start, and it will always remain dear to me as well. Gimme those families who understand how to make the best of it, and who aren't afraid of a little chaos!

I believe in a more "fly on the wall" approach + I will never force you into a pose that doesn't feel like you. I observe and calculate and always try to match your energy. I believe I can help you get into your vision during your photoshoot or on your wedding day through small direction and light posing. I like to show you the back of my camera while we are grabbing photos too because I know you want to see them, and I believe it helps explain my process when I am guiding you to do those silly things that end up looking really good! At the end of the day, these are your photos for keeps so I want you walking away happy--always! It's literally my job to set out clear standards and expectations for our time together so I have your trust. And when I have your trust--we make real life magic!
